M&A Analyst Job Description
We generally look for M&A Analysts on behalf of our clients due to expansion within the business or as a replacement.
Experience working in one of our specialist fields would be highly beneficial;
Healthcare / FIG / TMT (Technology, Media and Telecoms) / Consumer & Retail / Real Estate / Power, Utilities & Infrastructure / Natural Resources / Energy / Oil & Gas / Metals & Mining
M&A Analyst Key Responsibilites

The full range of responsibilities to M&A at Analyst level;

Assisting in execution of deals
-
Assisting in the preparation of marketing pitchbooks and related materials;

Gathering public information through numerous sources;
-
Creating merger and financial model analyses;
-
Generating models for valuation metrics;
-
Drafting marketing documents such as Confidential Information Memorandums for financing and/or sell-side assignments;

Building company forecast models;
-
Analysing company performance on an absolute and relative basis;

Producing and maintaining various databases;
M&A Analyst Skills & Requirements

You must have 1-3 years M&A experience from a Tier 1 bank / top boutique or Big 4 ACA (Lead Advisory)

A good knowledge of M&A and the ability to apply your skills creatively to diverse client needs;

Sound judgment, particularly in valuation matters, with strong analytic skills; particularly DCF`s and LBO`s and the ability to talk through previous deals comprehensively when quizzed.
Remuneration
Salaries for an M&A Analyst vary depending on experience and bank tier:
-
An M&A Analyst in a Bulge Bracket bank should expect a base salary between £45,000 to £57,000 with a 50-100% bonus.

An M&A Analyst in a top boutique should expect a base salary between £45,000 to £55,000 with a 50-100% bonus.
Career Progression
Most M&A Analysts would look to take the natural step to M&A Associate with 3 years solid experience behind them. Alternatively Private Equity positions would be good options further down the line.
